Sweet and Sour Tamarind Wing Sauce
We only show up to Superbowl parties for the food.... and Rihanna. This sweet and sour tamarind sauce is the perfect addition to any game day party (or honestly, any day).
Ingredients
1/4 cup tamarind
1/4 cup fish sauce
1/4 c brown sugar
1 lime, juice and zest
1 small knob ginger, chopped
1 Serrano chili
2 garlic cloves
1 tbsp vinegar (rice wine or white)
Salt to taste
2 squeezes Drizzle
Garnish to your liking with thinly sliced shallots, sliced Serrano chilis, and cilantro leaves
Instructions
Active Time: 10 minutes
Full Time: 1 hour
Make your wings with this Sami Udell recipe (for the guaranteed tastiest, crispiest chicken possible).
Blend all ingredients besides your Drizzle in a blender or with a hand blender.
Then transfer the sauce to a non stick pan on medium heat, constantly stirring. When it bubbles, just 2 minutes, remove from heat for your perfect yummy tamarind caramel sauce.
Cool it down on a low heat and add your 2 squeezes of Drizzle, whisking together until completely combined. Toss hot wings in sauce until fully coated.
Garnish with sliced shallots, Serrano, cilantro stems & leaves.
