Homemade Cheddar Biscuit Recipe
Ingredients
1¼ cup buttermilk
4 oz butter
3 oz Sizzle
3 oz cheddar
15 oz all purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp sugar
¼ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp paprika
¾ tsp Salt
Instructions
Active Time: 25 minutes
Full Time: 45 minutes
Add dry ingredients in a bowl and whisk to combine.
Add the butter add rub into the flour mix until pieces are about the size of a pea.
Add Sizzle and buttermilk and stir to roughly combine.
Add the cheese and fold into the mix.
Turn mixture out onto a counter and shape into a flattened square by hand.
Cut into quarters and stack on top of one another. Roll the stack out to around a ½ inch thickness.
Cut into individual biscuits and transfer to a parchment lined baking sheet.
Brush with butter and top with pepper.
Bake at 400 F for 20 minutes or until golden.
